Can you use a 12 vote conversion kit for a T0-30 on a T0-20. I can make brackets if needed.

One more thing:

I replaced the factory shifter/solenoid in the late '70s with an off the shelf Ford solenoid, mounted under the battery. And I replaced that with a new one in '03.
Will this work ok with 12 volts?

Thanks! I'm a self-employed toolmaker so making things out of steel are not a problem. It's the electrical stuff that I have very little knowledge of.

Forgot a couple things:

So the kit at the top of this page will work fine on the TO-20 except for brackets? Just wanted to confirm, because it says TO-30 ONLY. They maybe should make a note about this on the ad.

Also, the 6v. starter will hold up fine with 12 volts?

Rod, the only difference between the 20 & 30 is the generator mount. Everything else is the same. So, yes, if you don't mind fabricating your own alternator brackets, the 30 kit will work on the 20. Not 100% sure what all you get in the kit, if it comes with a belt, that belt may or may not fit, depending on how your alternator brackets compare to the TO30 brackets. If the kit comes with a 12V coil, or a resistor for your stock 6V coil, that will work just fine on your TO20.
