TO 30 starter

On the left side of the engine I found these numbers embossed
Z129 A 600

a plate near the distributor had this
Z129 346021

seems like we have a TO 30

We need another starter for this one - had the old one rebuilt but it didnt last but a couple of months. What is the most economical way to get another starter.

These starters can be completely rebuilt inside and out by a competent electrical automotive shop. Price all depends on what is wrong, but the good shops can get nose cones, all electrical parts and have old casings if you need that. Automotive Manufacturers, Inc., here in Richmond, VA does it all, and I've yet to see their price be as high as purchasing a new one.

"...had the old one rebuilt but it didn't last but a couple of months...". How did it originally go bad? Did it "go bad" the same way after rebuilding?? If so, problem could be in ring gear, flywheel housing mounting (or, of course, could be bad rebuilding job or starter so bad in some way that rebuilding didn't fix problem, like maybe warped or cracked case, slightly bent shaft, etc).
The Z129 is the engine: Continental Z129.

New starters go for around $160 to $170 and are avilable from this site and other.
