The serial number on my tractor is missing, but on the engine block there is a tag that says z129 e300881. Can I find out the year of manufacture by using this tag?

There should also be a date cast into the front of the Rear Axle trumpet housings, immediately behind the brake shaft/

Yes, I found the plate under the steering wheel but the number has been mysteriously removed

Jim in OH has published a list of engine numbers as a function of model year. Look in the archives and see if you can find it. Have you found the tractor serial number on the plate beneath the steering wheel with a number like TO ABCDE? If you have that ytou can find it in the Serial Numbers under Research & Info on the left on this page.
