TO20 engine temp- where to stick it?

I agree that the upper radiator hose water neck is the right place to put the temperature sensor, but I have observed the thread dia. on the TO-20's and TE-20's is small compaired to the bushings provided with most temp. gauges.

Mark, have you put in a temp gauge in a TO-20?

Robert, when you said you put the sensor in the block where are up putting it? Did you use a pre-exsisting port, or drill and tap a new hole?

I was really tring to figure out how to mount the sensor. All the plugs I have just do not quite fit. I am thinking it is a metric issue perhaps. Though that would suprise me.

I thought I would mount the ampmeter under the battery. As I cannot see the real value of the ampmeter. or if I can replace the little red light on my tractor take out the ampmeter altogether.

it is just about that close. I have a machinest friend who will be able to make this mod. if necessary, I let you know what I find out.
