I have been fussing with putting in a temperature gauge on my TE-20. The issue I have is all the Temp guage fittings are too big for my port.

What has any onle else done? I am about the pull it off, redrill and tap to new thread size. It looks like I am off by a 1/16" or so.

Does anyone know the port size?

Jeff

Jeff, I wonder if it is possible that port on the coolant manifold is different between the TE & TO-20's, even though both are Z120 engines? If that is the case, I'm wondering if you found a TO-20 coolant manifold on Ebay, etc., that might solve your problem? I had no trouble installing the standard capillary bulb & threaded jamb nut that came with the temp. gauge I bought at TSC. I installed a gauge that was listed for a Ford NAA/600/Jubilee on my TO-20 a couple years back. It was a perfect fit, both length of capillary tubing & the bulb/jamb nut. No mod's necessary. I've seen those generic automotive temp. gauge kits that all the parts stores sell, that have several adapters, etc. and a fairly long capillary tubing. If that's what you using, check out the gauges at TSC.

I have an Agco Heritage line Temp Gauge. The Fitting the bulb slips into (Jam nut?) is a smige too big. The TO-20's I saw at Dover, Oh last month also had a similar size.

I think I could Re-drill and re-tap with no problem. I have seen the TSC gauges but did not get one.
