Just finished this, in my case it was pretty easy. Just needed new bearings on the column and new seals. Sparex sells a seal kit for the two gear assemblies which includes all seals, including o-rings, the lip seals, etc. I refilled with 90 weight and nothing seems to be leaking.

Word to the wise: when tapping in the top column bearing, put your drift on the inner cup.

The parts manual isn't entirely clear about how the spring/spring rest go into the top bearing. Before the rebuild, my chrome finisher just kinda rattled around...I assume the spring is to provide a bit of up pressure on it? I can only imagine my steering wheel wasn't sitting down far enough before? I do seem to have the correct length chrome trim for my serial number.

I could not find a supplier of the top bearing as a Ferguson part, however my local Timken bearing supplier was able to measure the bearing, cup and cone and supplied replacements. Little bearing - big price! Think the complete bearing cost me around Aus$80 (US$65) - their excuse was that imperial measurement bearings are made in very limited numbers and thus expensive!

Hope you gave the top bearing a good dose of grease - in the TEA20 it gets no lubrication although I think later tractors had a grease nipple in the steering column housing?

I also had to buy the replacement drop arm seals in the UK - not available in Australia.
