When i was a kid i used to ride on a little gray ferguson tractor,it had high and low range.There were two Zfeguson emblems on the back of the hood on either side.IS this a TO-30 or what is it?I would like to own one

You probably had a to-20 or 30 with a sherman high- low transmission. Which was a dealer add-on which looked like it came from the factory. Without more info it is hard to say which one that you had because they looked the same at first glance.

If it had the little high/low shifter knob, then it was an early TO35.
The very first ones were, in fact, grey sheetmetal, with metallic green castings.
So you did ride a little grey fergy with high low--it was just a TO35. Started in December of 1954. Green and gray, a few Beige and Green, some Beige and Flint Gray, then later became MF 35 and went to Red and Flint Gray.

Others on this forum are far more knowledgable than I, but it seems that if the tractor definately had high/low range it was not a 20 or 30 series Ferguson, unless it was an add on unit. If it did not have high/low but had the gray paint, could have been a 20 or 30 series. Or maybe it was a Ford 9N with the Sherman tranny and gray paint, they looked very similar to the Fergusons since Harry practically invented "em. Maybe you should undergo hypnotic regression therapy, it could have been a million things. When I was a really little kid, we had a well worn Oliver that the original painted on emblems had long since faded off. I always thought it was a John Deere until my Dad corrected me on that point sometime last year. See how these things start?

i have a picture or partial picture of this tractor and it definetly eas a ferguson and the transmission was not an add on
