Radiator trouble ??

Hello guys.
I have a 1948 TEA-20. I just flushed the radiator. The water was extremely muddy/rusty. I doubt it has beed done the last 30 years. I finished by letting water run through the engine (out through the tap on the side of engine)while running. Until what came out was clear. I just took her for a spin (3 hours later) and the engine started to cut out badly. JUST managed to limb home. Apparently there are no leaks, that I can see anyway.
Have I got water some place where water is not wanted ?
I may have filled the radiator a bit too much. Could that be an issue.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

You can't OVERFILL it, all that will happen is the excess will simply run out. When you had the engine running and flushing it out may have caused a problem with the head gasket, it would have been better not to have the engine running as it was doing no good to cleaning out the radiator. Fill the radiator and look inside the radiator top tank with the engine ticking over and see if there are any air bubbles showing, if there is it sounds like a head gasket. It could also just be a coincidence that it has started doing all this just after you did the Radiator, check the points and plugs just to make sure.Have you also washed the radiator matrix out and cleared all the dust and grass out of it, wash it out from the engine side to the front, you may be amazed at the amount of rubbish that comes out, no wonder they get hot.
