Alright, just when I thought I was catchin' on this this electricity "stuff", I am dealt a curve ball (not quite that dramatic).
On my little TO 30, she is still in 6 volt dress-----while going over all the contacts, I noticed the coil has a resistor looking gizmo on the end where the wire goes to distributor.
Here's my question, I thought resistors were there to drop a 12 volt system down enough to allow a 6 volt coil and points to function correctly. Why does a 6 volt system need/have a resistor????? ????? ????? ????? ????? ????? ????? ????? ??//
Thanks, Mark

A 6 volt system doesn't need to have a resistor.
Only if you have a 6volt coil on a 12volt system do you need a resistor....John
