Wow, what a great crop. Here in central Kentucky, my crops have been stunted pretty badly by the hot sun and lack of rain. I'm going to dig my own potatoes tonight when it cools off a bit.

Man, that sure inspires me. A question from a guy with no green thumb whatsoever;
Do you use Roundup ahead of time and also, how do you keep the weeds and grass out?

Believe it or not I kept the weeds and grass out the old fashioned way, with a hoe. I sure would hate to do a very big patch that way though. I planted 13 pounds of seed potatoes and grew about 300 lbs. Three rows 70" long.

TerryG,

Keep the small seed potatoes to use next year you'll triple that harvest, we used our seed planted 5 rows 75ft. long got 300 to 400 lbs. with the purchased seed 3 rows 75 ft. maybe 100 lbs. good luck next season.
