Me and my dad just got a TEA 20 fergy and we were wondering if you put 90 weight gear oil in the steering box or some other kind of oil.

Most use 80/90 weight gear oil and if the seals are leaking around the arms, some even pump them full of grease. Keeps the streak of oil from running down on the paint job. You would probably have to take out the filler plug and drill through with an "R" drill (about .332" diameter, I think) and tap it with an 1/8" National Pipe Tap for a zerk fitting and use a grease gun. The manual for my TO30 says to use transmission oil, which is 80/90W straight mineral oil. I waited for someone with a TEA 20 to reply before offering my bit.
