I own a 1956 Ferguson TEF20, and I want to fit some lights. I know there was a lighting set available for TE20's when they were new and I have, on the bonnet the fittings for the two lights on the side of the bonnet which could be folded in, and a large light in the center of the bonnet, and a ploughing lamp on the rear mudguard along side the numberplate, but I cannot find anyone who can tell me which type of rear light was fitted to TE20's. Am I correct in assuming that they were like the cylindrical lights, which were red at the rear and white at the front, as fitted to later MF35's and 65's or was a different type fitted?

Any knowledge on this subject would be gratefully recieved

The standard lighting set, made by Lucas, consisted of a pair of front sidelights, fitted on hinged brackets each side of the bonnet, a single headlight, mounted centrally on top of and at the front of the bonnet, an integral number plate and single rear light with trailer socket and rear floodlight for ploughing. The rear light was fitted to the right hand mudguard (sitting on the tractor).
Hope this helps
Pete

Try the links on the H. Ferguson page. The unofficial Ferguson page is in England, and they are purists. Restoring to new-original is the goal of most of them.
