TEA 20 Clutch

G'Day Gentlemen,
The clutch on my TEA20 has decided recently to not disengage on the odd occasion!!! Seems to work normally but every now and then, perhaps once every 10 times, it will not disengage!! Very disconserting when one is driving back into the shed!!! The old girl has been working a bit hard lately slashing (brushogging) and its been raining a lot lately (unlike most of poor bloody Australia ) so its very humid. Live in the tropics. Is there anything I can do short of splitting the tractor and inspecting the clutch?

P S Anyone know about the Semco tractor show. I'm going to the Oshkosh Airshow this year in July and apparently its near there

1 1/2 hours to change a clutch on anything is pretty slick!!!!! There's no evidence of oil on the clutch or leaks anyway. Thank you for your help John

You running an over-ride clutch on the PTO shaft? It's not grabbing in gear due to the slasher drive load, is it? Does the problem occur regardless of whether the PTO is engaged or not?

No, Back at work in New Guinea !!! Got too much to do at home to get on the computer!!!!!
Have got an override clutch on PTO. Its definately the clutch not disengaging. Would imagine the splines on clutch plate are worn and sticking a bit. Probably will have to split it. Perhaps thats not too big a job, I remember reading a post from John UK saying that he used to do it in 4 hours!!! But he is a profressional!!!Probably take me 4 days!!

It could also be oil on the Clutch plate, not allowing it to slip. Actually I said it used to take us 1-1/2 hours to split the tractor and rebuild it...couldn't do that now though...If you need the information on how to split it and reset the engine governor, don't forget that you will have to disturb that. Just email [email protected] and I will send it....John
