I recently picked up a homemade cordwood saw at auction and would like to know at what rpm the blade should turn. It has a 26" blade on now but will take up to a 30" blade.

Engine Speed: 1500 RPM; PTO Speed 545 RPM; Pulley Speed 1018 RPM; Belt Speed 2399 RPM.

Engine Speed: 2000 RPM; PTO Speed 727 RPM; Pulley Speed 1356 RPM; Belt Speed 3190 RPM.

There are two models of the PTO belt drive, 8 inch and 8.5 inch. That will affect blade rotation speed.

From the Feruson implement book: The saw is run at 1200 RPM which means an engine setting of throttle.

Bob,seems that 3/4 throttle would give you alot more then 1200 rpm. Also, shouldnt your belt speed be in FPM?
