Hello to all, Last week, after fighting the starting problems, I dropped off the starter at the auto electric shop for a bench test. Not done yet,so I built a hand crank out of round stock. with plugs out I turned it over and every thing seemed smooth, so I reinstalled plugs, turned on ignition, set choke, and on second pull it fired up. Needed to readjust the carb but after wards it ran smoothly. I took it out for a spin around the yard. Clutch feels good, trans and rearend is quiet, no brakes but with all the oil coming out of the drums,its no wonder.couldnt be happier, Thanks to all. Jim.

We used to crank our TO-20 a lot back in the fifties and sixties. If the battery went bad, there wasn't always enough money for a new one and either we parked it on a hill or cranked it. We always stuck the crank in the space between the tail light bracket and the fender.
