The engine on my TO35(deluxe) was recently overhauled and the Carb was rebuilt. The engine and Carb have operated fine; however, last night the Carb started dripping after the shutting the down the tractor (the gas tank was removed and replaced yesterday to remove an old coolant gauge sensor). I did use the shut-off valve AFTER discovering the drip. So, any bets on the float valve being stuck open due to fuel tank sediment? I can't work on the tractor until tonight when I get back home from work. Thoughts welcome.

You may have a tiny pin hole in you float which allows float to fill up and stay down (i.e. leave needle open.)

just to be sure...double check and make sure it's not leaking around the gas line fitting where it enters the carb. it can leak there but look like its leaking from the carb itself.

If there is crud in the Fuel Tank it should be washed out and fit an in-line fuel filter as an extra precaution, you can clean one of these much easier than the ones in the tank. You may just clear whatever is holding the needle valve partly open by tapping the carb bowl with a heavy piece of wood with the fuel turned on it will then wash through into the bowl, if you have the drain open it will wash straight through.

You're right. I'll be picking up a filter this evening. I'm hoping too that the float settng is fine but some crud made its way into the bowl when the tank was moved. Maybe, a couple of taps and all will be well. We'll see. Thank you.

Be sure that filter is for a gravity flow system or it will starve the carburetor all the time.
