Re tea and serial numbers

Got my parts and service manuals from YT today.They sent along a serial number guide.

Now my tag on my tractor says Tea 372350, i have been going along the lines of it being a 1954 tea 20-85, at one time the serial #,s to the left confirmed that i believe.Sparex serial number guide confirms this as well,1954 starting serial number 367999.

What gives is this an American thing with these numbers , my parts haven,t arrived yet , sure hope i ordered right,lol.

I wasn,t able to order my parts from YT anyway , and ordered them here in Canada so im guessing i,ll be ok, just another confusing thing i guess.

I never knew there was a TE 30 and that is what is listed as a starting serial # for a 1954 TE 30 in their guide and now on the left here.

No such thing as a TE30, there is a TO30 made in Detroit which is equivalent of the TE20/85 in Canada. If you ordered the parts in Canada they would have made sure that you had a TE type TE's made in England. TO's made in Detroit. Your tractor was made the last week in January 1954

Toolman. Your TEA20-85 is a 1954 model, very few differences if any from the previous year. My TEA20 Ser No TEA341439 is a mid 1953 model.

I saw the reference to a TE30. To the best of my knowledge there is no such tractor and as my serial number falls in the "TE30" range ("Serial Numbers" to the left), I can assure you it is a TEA20, not a "TE30".

Will be interesting to see what comment John (UK) makes about a "TE30"?

In my humble opinion, the penultimate TEA20 was by far the best of the all Little Grey Fergys!

I agree Bob, my little tractor has done work that most never thought it could and still has plenty to give after all these years,i don,t know if todays will be doing the same some 50 plus years down the road.I never heard of a TE30 either , that is why i was so surprised when i got this book with my other two, then i checked on the site at the left, i was surprised to find it the same there as well , as i was sure it hadn,t been that way in the past.Prehaps when they printed these up they made the same mistake on the site at the left. It will be interesting to see johns take on it.
