Yes, This is a repost from another post.
Hopefully it might get more than one response. Yes, I am short on patience and long on stupid.
Maybe if I got longer patience I might get shorter stupid. That would just take the fun out of it...
So, What sealant do you use on head gaskets?
Have a good one!
Bruce

No sealer on Head Gaskets as such, just a thin coat of grease is sufficient to allow it to creep.

Bruce, I used a spray-on head gasket sealer called Copper Coat, sounds like the same stuff Jerry mentioned below. I was real happy with the results.
I did some research through the archives on the subject when I tore my TO-20 down. Sounds like dry head gasket installs are pretty common, using copper coat is pretty common, the Fergy manual recommended using "cup grease" (thick grease) on the head gasket. The reason I heard for using cup grease was to provide a little lubrication so the head gasket would settle down evenly while torquing & not rip or bunch -up.

Bruce. No sealant on the head gasket of my TEA20. Just a scrupulously clean block and head faces and the correct head bolt tension, checked again after a few hours running. And I've never had a head gasket problem.

Way back when I was a kid, Father used to use Rolls Royce gasket sealer. He swore by it! Don't know if it is still available.
