G'Day Gents,
I am building a post hole digger for my TEA 2O Fregie. I've got a differtial out of an old ute (ah pick up truck( for the right angle gearbox, and have modified it to suit. The dimentions and set up will be a matter of experimentation but have high hopes that it will work. Has anyone on the forum made one and got any tips?????
Thanks and Regards
Dave Tointon

Many years ago a uncle of mine grafted on a truck differential onto a post hole digger that had a busted gear box, never saw it work but saw it around his farm for many years.

Thanks Bob,
I plan to drive it off the PTO in the interests of cost and simplicity. It will have to deal with a few rocks, just the nature of our property,I'm afraid. Doesn't have to be fast and will make the auger 1O inch

Thanks for your comments, Its an interesting project and will probably only cost a hundred bucks in total!! Bought ones cost $17OO new from Barends
Regards
Dave

Apinun Wantok! Some years ago a friend made a post hole borer out of an early Holden diff, slung under his 3PL crane, which worked perfectly on my TEA20. Think it had around a 10 or 12 inch auger and I used it for the posts around my Brisbane acreage, although in sandy loam.

Hydraulics are another interesting possibility. If you know where to look, used hydraulic pumps and motors are available for the right price and you could use the PTO pump for other applications.
