I was at the bone yard last week getting some steering parts off a 1954 To30. It had a flat head 4 banger on it. Did they make a flat head engine for the TO30? Could it be an old 8N engine? If so I thought that it wouldn't bolt up to a fergie trans. It didn't have an adapter, that I could see. I should have thought of taking the casting #'s, but I didn't. Any clues what it might be?

How do you know it was a TO-30? Did it have a serial number plate on it wirth a serial number TO 60001 or above? The 2N and 9N Fords used the Ferguson System and a lot of the parts from the hitch and hydraulics are the same There are also other parts that are interchangeable. Maybe what you saw was a Ford.

According to the serial #'s on the steering wheel plate it would made it 1954 to30. Unless the whole dash and steering was changed. The trans was a ferguson. (started with the gear shifter.

I'm heading back to the bone yard in a day or two. I'll see if I can get some casting #'s.
