My 3pt. wasnt working so I took off the cover because oil was coming out of the gasket. The oil was bad so I drained it to find alot of stuff at the bottom. It feels like goop. I cant get it clean good. So I want to take the bottom cover off. How do I do that? Any ideas why my 3pt. wouldnt work also?

If I pull the PTO and pump is there anything that must be taken out and put in the exact way or it wont work. Mainly I mean the PTO. The pump is easy right.

I did your last posting first, so I have already sent a reply to that. To take the Pump out you have to be careful that you don't damage the Control Valve. The reason your hydraulics won't work is more than likely the Control Valve is stuck and won't move. This can very often be freed off without taking the Pump out.

You may not need to remove the pump to do what you want to do. Do a search in the Ferguson archives on the "draining trnasmission oil". A regular contributor hto this forum whose handle is Jeff(OH) has written up a procedure for soing this.
