Snowblower towed behind TO30

I bought a PTO driven snowblower that tows behind the tractor. It is the type that plows in the direction you are driving vs. operating in reverse. Does anyone have experience with this type and how well they work? i.e., how deep of snow can you ususally pull through given you are driving the tractor through the snow b4 the blower hits it?

I've driven though snow up to ~16 inches with my TO20 on level ground. Could probably go deeper if needed. My TO has filled rear tires, which probably helps. The problem I've run into is it gets hard to steer when trying to drive though snow that deep, I often end-up using my left/right brake for steering. Traction can be a problem, especially if there is any ice below the snow, had a good deal of problem with that last winter. I highly recommend tire chains. I'll have some chains by this winter myself.

I have chains but no fluid in the tires.

The loaded tires help a lot, or maybe try and find some weights.
