It was broke before I fixed it...Honest!!
Now where can I find a clockwise turning proof meter that runs off the back of the generator?
Have a good one!
Bruce

Are you the same Bruce(OR) thats working on an 8n who stops by a different N board? If so you are as bad as me. I try not to have more than 1 tractor apart at a time but sometimes it just does not work that way.

I bought a tractormeter for my TO 35 from this site and its pretty nice looking.

Other N boards? Yes! Use to have a 9N, that went away and now only have the TO-20 with the Howard and Hupp and a Rotovator. In the process of a tear down and rebuild and looking for the final parts to get it done soon. Bruce(OR)

Bruce. My Ferguson Implements and Accessories book does not show a tractormeter for the TO20 - I'm intrigued?

Are you saying it connects to a drive on the rear of the generator?

There was a tractormeter for the TE series but the drive for that came off a small wheel running on the fan belt, on top of the generator pulley. They were calibrated one hour at 1,000 rpm. They appear to be extremely rare.

Tractormeters fitted to later Ferguson tractors, driven from the generator appear to be calibrated at higher RPM - one hour at 1,540 to 1,800 rpm.

Just interested..... .

My TO-20 parts book does not show a meter for the 20 either. The machine came to me with the Howard and Hupp transmissions. The proofmeter was attached to a bracket under the main dash panel.
It's only been apart for two months or so and I don't quite remember where it went anymore. One hour is at 1540 RPM and the guage face is marked for a 4 speed transmission. There is a working tach drive on the rear of the generator connected to a broken drive cable. On the inside of the proofmeter is a needle going through the face plate. On the bottom of the needle is a clock spring that returns it to zero. This meter is broken at the point that the needle shaft connects to the shaft coming from the motor inside the housing. Yes, I tried to take it apart and inspect it. Yes, it is now in a few more non working pieces... What other clockwise turning proof meter could I use in it's place?
Have a good one!

Bruce. Good news perhaps? I saw that model Ferguson (not MF) tractormeter for sale on EBay in the UK a few months ago. It was definately 1540 RPM to the hour. Check the UK Ebay site or one of the UK parts suppliers as I think they are still available and not very expensive. Tractormeter drive cables are also available in the UK but can't guarantee they are to suit your tractormeter.
