TO30...getting started

Today I took the tarp off the TO30 that I inherited last fall. I started evaluating the wiring...comparing what was there to the diagram, looking to see what gauge wire to use, etc.

As I was doing this, I removed the old electrical tape that was holding all the wires together. Under the tape I found this....bare wires bundled together. All the insulation rotted away. Hmmm, no wonder nothing worked! I wonder if all the components are also fried as a result?

Jim. I would not even think about trying to repair any of that. I toyed with making a new wiring loom for my TEA20 - really simple, there isn't much to the wiring - but ended up buying a new loom. It was around US$50.

I assume a similar loom is available for your TO30.

A new loom and you may find everything still works.

P.S. You need new seals and possibly new bushes in the steering box! LOL
