I would like to replace the seals on my loaders hydraulic rams. The tube is two pieces with one of them screwing down onto the long section. I am assuming that this crown needs to be remove,(unscrewed). Torque alone is not getting the job done. What other means should I consider while waiting for penetrating oil to hopefully help ? Does pressure within the cylinder come into play ? My ram is still installed and the lines are hooked up, bucket is resting on the ground. I have left it installed to have a means to hold the tube stationary while twisting.

Thanks ianb, I didn't know if there were any other components that may be damaged by a little heat.
