Hi guys, well I was using my TO-30 not like Harry ever intended. I built a 3 pt attachment for a small backhoe and then a got a 3 pt forklift. I pulled harder on the top link then it was able to handle. It finally broke the lift spring control plunger; the hole in the end broke out. Now the questions, has anyone experienced this before? Recommendations on how and what will need fixing? Anyway to make it stronger than original? Where can I find some of the parts which may be damaged? Thanks everyone!

Well you shouldn't attach a digger to the top link connection,(far too heavy) it should be attached to the long hinged pin below the Top Link. When you say it has broken out do you mean it has broken the Top Cover where the Plunger passes through. The only time we had that problem was when someone was using the tractor as it wasn't supposed to be used or towing from the Top Link Connection. You will have to rebuild the hole that the Plunger passes through or get a second-hand Top Cover. The plunger is available as part number 890700M1 from MF dealers, they will tell you it isn't available, tell them it is and to check with the UK warehouse.(they will hate you for that) or you can get one from Sparex as part S60585 but it will require shortening I have been told, the end yoke that screws onto the Plunger is S60586. The adjustment is the Draft Control Spring should just be able to turn when you have an implement on the linkage in the raised position. If you need anymore information on this just email me at:-

My control spring was welded when I bought the tractor. Still working...
