I have an ignition switch on my 35 that was half wired, it has 4 terminals, the one in the center says ST, I assume this means start button, one says BATT., I assume this means to the positive cable side of the solenoid, one says ACC., This I assume is the lights, and the last one says IGN., this one I guess goes through the safety switch to the coil? Could someone confirm if this is right, or wrong? Thanks for your help.
Terry

Hi Terry,

Check out this link.
You can also search YT archives as others have submitted wiring diagrams here as well.

Regards,

Roger

Unless your tractor has been converted to electronic ignition it should be POSITIVE GROUND

Early TO-35s with 6V systems used a positive ground. The 12v models used a negative ground.

Terry Your starter solenoid should have 3 terminals 2 large and 1 small. The ST. position on the switch is for start and should go on the small terminal of the starter solenoid. This engages the starter solenoid when the key is turned to the spring loaded start position on the switch. One of the large terminals on your starter solenoid should be marked HOT or BATT the POS. battery cable should go here and the other large terminal should go to the post on the starter. The BATT. position on the switch is a hot wire direct from the battery. Most of the time power for this position is picked up were the POS. battery cable is hooked to the starter solenoid. The ACC. does go to light and such and the IGN. does go to the coil. You should not need a push button. Hops this helps.

Well I would like to keep it all original as much as possible. So I assume the original equipment switch has been replaced with something else, if I had the right switch, I could keep my button, is that right?
