Hello, I have never seen this type before. I wonder if it is original equipment. Replaced and the new temp. gage is working! It is clean because I sand blasted it. Interesting, to me anyway.

For general info: The replacement aluminum thermostat housing (sold by BARECO, and possibly others) will fit this original thermostat; however, the temp sending probe will then NOT fit. If you use a new housing, you must use a 'new' thermostat, which they sell, which is narrower and will not interfere with the probe. Reason is the probe mounting hole is located in a slightly different position.

It is the original type thermostat and they were made by Smiths and AC (Delco)
