TO 30 Color

A few days ago I asked what color gray would match the original gray on my 30. I understand that there were different shades based on the purchase of different lots of paint at different times. I've found shade called winter gray that looks like it will match up pretty good to what's left on the tractor (that appears to be original). Now I just have to finish the prep work and wait for this cold snap to pass.

Hi my dad has a fergie 20 but before he restored it was red. Keeping with this tractors colors my dad painted it red and not the usual grey. Something that I discovered was that the original paint color (on my TO-30) can be seen in very good condition under the serial number tag under the steering wheel. You may not want to go to the trouble to remove this, but the pins can be driven out from behind (after you get to it). I was surprized to find that the original color was a lot darker than what showed otherwise... IN fact, I intend to paint mine a lighter more bluish color, like I remember (not so clearly)from 55 years ago.... Jim

Hey Jim,
I did the same on my TO20 to check the original color and it was a light bluish gray, which I like better than the darker grays.

At this point in time, her opinions of the color, the tractor, and me are in sync - unfortunately I can't share her opinions because I would forever be barred from this forums!

(By the way, what should I use to keep the fleas off if I get sent to the doghouse for an extended length of time - she has now discovered that the rust dust also settled on some of her stuff in the basement!)

i've had good results with the flea and tick collars for large dogs. i keep a stock of them right in the doghouse. i was rubbing that Frontline stuff on me til i read that it isn't fer human use. when you gonna post some pics of that 20?

I guess I need to do that, now that the red haze has settled. On the other hand, the air is probably still filled with expletives from me trying to replace the rear wheels studs on one side. Now if they would show up in the picture, that would be one cool picture for the tractor restoration forum! (Or maybe it would be a better fit for the "stuck and Troubled" section.)
