TE20 question

Does not move when the throttle is moved??? Then you have no mechanical linkage from the hand throttle to the governor?

As John says, the link arm may have disconnected. John mentioned ball joints on the TE20 but my TEA20 has pins.

You should be able to get your fingers up under the dash panel and feel the link connecting to the top of that disc on the end of the governor activating rod. If that is not where it has disconnected, it will be at the throttle lever end, in which case the dash panel needs to come off.

If you need to remove the dash panel and seeing the rust on your tractor, soak the seven coach bolts thru the casting, very well with something like CRC etc and don't put too much pressure on the spanner. They are a Fergy special; they have a spline that engages in the casting and if seized will turn in the casting and are then a cut off job and difficult to find replacements.

Think I saw an exploded view on a thread further down? Different model Fergy but same principal.

Bob, Thanks for taking the time to reply. I checked and it does not move when the throttle is moved. If you turn the disc it causes the rod that connects to the Governor assembly to move. This rod travels along the top outside edge of the exhaust manifold. I have attached a photo of the dash showing the disc I"m speaking of.

Bob and you were on the money. I had a part that fell off the tractor when I initially power washing it after bringing it home. Couldn't figure out what it went to. It was the linkage between the throttle and the governor. Rusted to pieces. I think I can fabricate something that will work if I can't find the piece. I've attached at picture.

No wonder later TEA20's had a changed linkage!
