G'Day Gentlemen,
I have just purchased and fitted a new 5 ft slasher (americans read brushog) to my TEA 20 Fergi. It performs beautifully however when it is lifted beyond about halfway the PTO shaft hits the top plate of the slasher risking severe damage to the shaft or PTO drive. Is there any way to limit the lift of the hydraulics to avoid this? Thanks and Regards

Paul, I think the top link is fitted correctly and in fact the instructions that came with it mentions the problem but no solution. John, my quadrant isn't fitted with a stop but I will make one and try it out.

Hi Dave

Last year I got a new 6' mower and it was doing the same thing. I finally bent my PTO shaft. Well after looking on why it was doing this; it was put together wrong on the top link pivit. I removed it and reinstalled it the correct way and no more problems. Take a look, maybe you can fix yours too.

If you lift the mower then move the lever forward you will find a position on the Quadrant where the Hydraulics neither lift nor lower. Move the lever to that point and move the lever stop up to the lever, then all you have to do it lift the mower about a foot from the ground then move the lever up to the stop and it will hold there while you turn. OR you can fit position Control from Zane Sherman (Zane Thang)
