TO-30 Spark Plugs

I bought a 6 volt tune-up kit for my TO-30 when I first got it, and upon further investigation I found out it had been upgraded with a 12 volt system. Can I still use the spark plugs from the 6 volt kit on my tractor? I know the coil won"t work. What about the distributor, wires, or points?

The Autolite 386 is the standard plug. I like the Autolite 3116 plugs myself. Both work fine.

Only thing to add is beware of new, replacement condensers that are "Hechoed in Mexico". If the tractor cranks and runs a few seconds and dies again, the condenser could be shorting internally. The replacements seem to have marginal insulation between the plates and are not self healing if using a 6V coil and a dropping resistor. Apparently the condenser sees the full 12 volts until the resistor heats. I finally threw in the towel and switched over to 1974 Toyota truck condensers (bought out the local dealer"s stock). Never had a problem since. Current one has been installed for 4 years.

Rest of the parts, as stated, will never know the difference between 6 and 12 volts.
