i'm gonna need to start looking for a fan shroud for my TO-20. i was wondering if the shrouds from a TO-30 or even a 35 were the same. also, i'm looking for a hood latch assembly for it. i know the 35's are different but don't know about the 30's. i don't have a parts book for my 20 yet. gotta get around to ordering one. would you know the answer to my questions?

thanks-mike

overunder1; What do you mean by "make a new top radiator hose"? Is this hose not available? I have wondered about re-installing the radiator and shroud on my TO-30 project. Painting will be a problem.

I took the old piece of hose down to the local parts emporium and had them find a piece of hose with a straight section to match up with the old piece. You can buy straight sections of hose but all I could find was heavy duty stuff that defied my attempts to insert the thermostat. Cut out that section, applied lots of liberal lube to the inside and forced in the new thermostat. Oh dear, I just bet Mike comes back with another patented smarty remark about this post lol. Last time we started a thread about thermostats I received lots of verrrrry helpfull hints about installing it and the proper lube to use. (grin)

Per the parts manual, the radiator shroud is the same for the TE-20( tractor # 200001 and on), TO-20, & TO-30. The Ferguson part number is 825 098 M1.

Hey Mike, if you find a fan shroud be prepared to practice some of those don't use on Sunday words when you install it. (don't ask me how I know) but first off be really sure your front axle pivot pin is not worn excessively and second be sure both radiator support tabs are not bent and third that the tractor has the correct fan blades. Also be sure your radiator still has the side rails for the shroud to mount to, its a great time to replace that missing thermostat and make yourself a new top hose too. When all is said and done though you will be pleasantly surprised at just how much better the radiator keeps things cooled down with a shroud installed.

lee...looks like i better do a ittle inspecting on m'tractor. once i noticed the shroud was missing i "fabricated" a temporary one outta 1/4 inch plywood and it made a big difference keeping it cooler. but since i'm getting ready to pull the old 20 apart for a *"refurbishing"* (*note..not a restoration...i don't wanna get the "correct police on my donkey) i want to get the right shroud on it and maybe find or figure out a fabrication for the hood latches too. thanks for the heads up...my wife doesn't appreciate those non-sunday words when they come flying outta my shop.
