TO30 with a Davis loader questions

I'm working on my TO30 with a Davis loader. I'm repairing coolant leaks into the oil and replacing the radiator. It seems like a good time to overhaul the pump drive for the loader. It has a shaft from the crankshaft pulley to the pump with a Detroit coupling on the front. On the rear end of the shaft is a round plate with four studs in it that engage holes in the crankshaft pulley. The studs are wearing out, and from the size of the holes in the pulley I think there should be some rubber bushings or something.

Does anyone know how to remove the shaft for repair? The round plate on the pulley end does not have any obvious way to remove it, and it is too big to pull it through the hole the shaft goes through.

Is this a stock crank pulley, or a special one for driving this loader's pump?

Where can I get parts for the Davis loader?

Hello from Ohio, I have worked on that type of shaft and i think you will fine that the shaft is threaded into the plate with left hand threads ( To keep it from unscrewing under torque). Turn the shaft opposite the rotation of the engine with a pipe wrench. you may have to hit the pipe wrench with a hammer to shock the threads loose. Then unscrew it. -ed

Thanks, Ed. I'd be willing to bet you nailed it. I'll try to unscrew it this morning. Any ideas about the pulley? With no rubber in the holes, I expect the drive holes are worn as badly as the drive pins. I wonder if the rubber bushings are replaceable or if I have to buy a pulley. And, where to get them?

Hello again, I bought a front pully with the drive plate on it for my to35 about 20 years ago, I don't know if they still sell them or not. Try a massy ferguson dealer. If it was mine i would weld the pins and pully back up and improvise some bushings for it and run it . Sorry i can't be more help-ed

Ed, the shaft came out just as you said. Someone had put it together with thread lube, so that was nice.

I was thinking along the lines you suggest. I'm thinking polyurethane shock bushings for the rubber bushings. I can thread the holes in the plate and screw in sawed-off screws with Loctite. Thanks again,
