I see that 12volt conversion kit is available for TO30's but not for TO20's. Can someone explain why not the TO20???Is there a problem mounting belt tendion adjuster on water pump lugs??? Appreciate any help.

Ed: You might want to look at the items available on EBAY. Search for Universal Alternator Bracket. There are several listed. They run $30-$35. My problem is the high cost of shipping to Calif. There is also a listing for a Delco Generator to Delco Altenator Bracket. I'm not sure of the spacing. I think I will fabricate my own adjustable bracket due to cost of product and shipping. LOL Glenn

You can take a to-30 kit and make a lower mount. Everything else is the same. For some reason nobody has made a kit for the to-20. I think the lower mount area changed in the early years so there would have to be two mounts in a kit. I might be wrong but it sounds good. This has been adressed many times in the archives.

I think Paul has hit on it, TO-20's have a different mounting bracket than everything else... law of supply & demand...not a lot of demand.
I've seen several 12V TO-20's, they all had home-made brackets.
