Not wanting to bend/break the crank front pulley such as I (Klutz) did when rebuilding the generator...
How do you remove the front pulley off the crank on a "50 TO-20??
Have a good one!

as far as the TO 30 goes, remove the bolt that has the hand crank recepticle, and use a pulley puller. there is a key in the shaft, so be careful you dont lose it.

I attempted to place my puller in the openings between the outer ring and the inner hub. I hoped this would minimize the distortion by pulling on the center. If I use a puller on the outer edge of the pulley, is this going to possibly damage the pulley??

The crank pulley is quite heavy, probably cast iron. If you use a pulley puller, which has a clamshell like ring that goes around the perimeter of the pulley, you should have no problem. I think I used a 3 claw gear puller behind the back of the pulley & didn't have any trouble. The pulley should come off fairly easy once the bolt is out, unless the key or keyway is buggered-up, the pulley just slides right on when installed.
