Can anyone tell me the difference between a MF65 and a MF65 Multipower? and what is Multipower?

My father-in law has just bought one and left it to me to find a service manual and a parts book for it and is it proving hard to find them I have found a place that can sell me a photocopy of them but they get them from the UK and tell me they will take 3 or 4 months to get. Anyone know a place in Australia I could try?

Thanks Simon

Thank you very much for your replies I had not tried the dealer I will give them a go today.

The father-in law said there is no engine braking going down hill but he said it was when he was in high range and it did have some engine braking in low, I wonder if he might have the range he is in confused, I will have a look next time I am down there.

Thanks again Simon

per the manual...

" 6. For engine breaking while coming downhill, shift the M-P lever to "High". "

The MF 65 and MF65 with Muiti power are the same tractor. Thus MF65 manuals and parts books will be the same. I got my set directly from a MF dealer. You can go to the link below. Pick your area and you will get several dealers. I would call around because local dealer markup can vary. At least it does here in the States.

Now what is multi-power. From the manual:

The Multipower transmission provides 12 Fwd. and 4 Reverse speeds. M-P provides a shift-on-the-go advantage. This can be done without clutching.

Hope this helps
Jeff

Multi-power basically means that there's a lever on the dash that you can switch from high to low. It gives you twice as many speeds.

The upside is that it's a power shift - No clutching required.

The downside is that there's no engine braking in the low side - Thre tractor can go 90 MPH downhill.

And of course - It's one more thing that can break...
