I am 15yrs old, and I don't know if you can drive on the road, from my farm to a field, when you are 15yrs. I drive our ferguson TEF-20, and really i'm the only one who can, any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Jack

I dont know the actual laws for driving. Do you have to be born before 1990 to get your lisence at 16?
If you have any answers to my question, please email me at [email protected]
Thanks,
Katrina

I live in Texas and I think most states are the same. You dont have to have a license to drive a farm tractor as long as you are not using it for transportation but are using it for work on the farm.

Here in Ohio you a have to be 14(no liscense though), but 16 if you are using a tractor or combine at a job(even your neighbors). I broke that rule when I was 13 by driving a tractor on the road. Now I go on the road with tractors all of the time. That law really isn't inforced. I am 15 1/2 now.AN S.M.V. SLOW-MOVING-VEHICLE-EMBLEM ON THE TRACTOR IS A MUST, PEOPLE HAVE BEEN KILLED BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T HAVE ONE. The middles of them(orange) after a few years fade into yellow and eventually white. Replace the faded ones($4-$5). If the implement you are pulling blocks the view of the SMV put it on the implement. Orange flashing lights are reccomended too day or night. Whenever possible have somebody follow behind you while on state routes etc.
A mirror is good to have too. Be safe.

our school has a day were everyone drives there tractor to school. yes, i live out in the boondocks, but, alot of kids drive to school that are only 12 and 13, this does prove that the rule isnt inforced often. ive been driving a tractor since i was 9, but once again, i just live out in the sticks. we aint got much of any cops, just the sheriff, and he's a cool guy. well, i have to agree, make sure you have an SMV and lights, but other than that, if your driving under 14, watch out for the county mounties and have fun
