Anyone have a simple solution for spray painting my Ferguson emblems w/o getting blue paint on the border or the raised letters?

All the 30"s I"ve seen have chrome emblems with blue back ground. But you can paint them any color you like. I rechromed some emblems for a 35 then I covered all the raised part with masking tape then took a hobby knife or exacto knife and trimed around all the raised area"s. Took quite awhile to do. Then I sprayed the back ground. Some guys I know that restore Fergusons said they were the nicest they had seen. Hope this was some help.

The Desitin method will probably work better for me. I have had trigger finger on both hands from working them too hard over the years so my fine motor skills probably aren't as good as your with the knife! JG

What model of Ferguson did your emblems come off of?

Thanks Bruce. I knew there had to be a better way than giving up and just spraying the emblem all one color like so many of us amatuers do!

For arguments sake you want raised yellow letters above a red background.
Spray the entire area yellow. Let it dry.
Go over the raised letters with Desitin (Baby rash fish oil goop).
Now spray the area with red paint, allow to dry and remove the desitin.
You now have yellow letters on a red back ground.
