Im at work today with nothing and then some to do
read ytmag.com till I was bored.

But I'm also working on my ferguson.
Took appart the distributor and cleaned it all up. The centrifical advance was stuck - kinda werid since the guts look all brand new. Hadda use some PB blaster to free it up.

Other then that, I havea nice shiny restored looking dizzy.

Might concider checking the advance if the timing seemsoff. Mine was and the dizzy was loose.... Found the problem 2 years later lol

I am sorry you feel bored, but I feel confused. Since English is not my first language, what is a "dizzy", I can not find it in my parts manual. :-)

In this instance Bill, "dizzy" means Distributor. like "tranny" means Transmission not transvestite like in some areas....lol
Carby = carburettor
There are a lot more abbreviations they use.

Ok,,, well, if you inhale the smell from a distributor ("dizzy") in Poland, then you really get dizzy, because there they call the carburetor for distributor... as distributing the fuel.

it's kinda funny to sit here at the crack of dawn every morning reading posts from "over the pond", and realize it's afternoon or evening over there for you guys.

The pistons? in reply to mike a. tenn., 02-13-2007 05:35:00
That's an old rodeo clown joke. The clown is working on his car, and it's in sad shape. The carburetor doesn't carb, the transmission doesn't tran, the brakes don't break, and the pistons...

What about the pistons?

They don't work either.

Actually I get quite a few calling it "carby" I know a lot call it carb too Australia calls them carby as well. Can get a bit tricky sometimes when you are writing a reply to someone, you have to make sure that you try to get the right words for the country you are writing to, but lots of times they don't tell you where they are and you have to look for clues like in their expressions, what they call the tractor, the email address, what bit you get of it. Pistons are just pistons, I have never heard of them called anything else, that doesn't mean to say they don't. We can always tell when you wake up, the internet slows down.....lol

“Dizzy”: Rotating outflow valve between the thronomister and gas generator in turbine powered Ferguson tractors hydraulics!

Also, what you get on the morning after a heavy night on home brew!

:-)

We don’t speak English here in the Antipodese either – at least according to the British – but we do know what a “dizzy” is.
