Play in PTO shaft

On my TO 30 is there supposed to be play in the PTO shaft or should it have none.Mine moves from side to side and up and down about 1/4 inch or a little less. If it is not right what should be checked to correct it. Thanks Guys.O

Bearing probably worn. If you have the original 1 1/8 shaft, you can replace the entire shaft and assembly with a more modern 1 3/8 shaft very easily, about $110.
