I'm having problems with my 1951 To-20 governor. how does this thing work? I'm constantly having to adjust the throttle, can't just set her at one speed under no load and drive without throttle gradually increasing . ??? also were there any decals or plates on these fergys to dress them up a bit after a nice paint job?

Try: www.geocities.com/motorcity/downs/9828 Some of these guys seem to have made a point of learning Fergs. inside and out. It sounds like the throttle brake disc is slipping though. Raise the hood, and inside, on the throttle linkage, is a clamp with a spring between it and the dash. Loosen the clamp and slide it toward the dash to apply more pressure to the brake. The Ferg. governor is one of the best. It usually never needs work. If something is readjusted,they are vvvery touchy. Try to put all adjustable links back to the original position. Hope I helped!

Thanks Ray,...I'll give this a shot !, I've also learned this winter (being one of the harshest in a long time) that my Fergy could use some tire chains, do they make chains for these good o'l boys ?
