What Mike says. However, I have seen "Specials" with all of those features EXCEPT the two stage clutch. I think it is safe to say if it has the two stage clutch (live PTO) is is a Deluxe, and if not, it is a Special. I know I have owned a Special with the good seat and tractometer, etc. Perhaps those things were sometimes installed by dealers. Also, if your tractor is one that has the prefix for the serial number on the plate on the dash (SGM or SGF) then the third letter designates it as a Deluxe (M for the two position clutch) or Special (F for one position).

the TO-35 came in either a "special" or a "deluxe" model. the deluxe features included, two stage clutch (live PTO), ground speed PTO, lights, "foam float seat", and a four guage instrument panel that included the "tractormeter" which is a fancy tachometer.
