john, i really meant to send you those pics of my brackets today, but i got all tied up all day doing a buncha welding for some friends. i'll really try to get to it tomorrow. i know...this sounds like that "check's in the mail" thing right? i'll put it at the top of my list for tomorrow...honest! thanks for filling me in on what the doglegs are. i kinda thought that's what you were referring to since you said you were working on your sheet metal, but i wasn't sure. HillsofTn. told me what they were too, so now i know everything! (right) i noticed in the pic of your 35 that the wheels looked new! what did you do? cut the centers out of a TO-20 wheel and weld it in your rims? i guess i didn't quite get what you said?

oh and....really nice job on those wheels. they DO look brand new! you better be careful tho...you're gonna want to make the rest of the tractor look as good as those wheels and then you'll be looking for yet ANOTHER work tractor...80)

john, the wheels on my 35 look just like your "remade" wheels. (see pics under "ready for summer" post) that makes me wonder. i do believe mine is a deluxe, it has the high low tranny, the two stage clutch, the "tractormeter" tach....but not the power adjust wheels. i'd say mine have been changed?

i've learned more about my tractor in the few weeks since i've been reading this forum than in the 3 years i owned it!

I looked at your pix again and the centers may be Ford centers. Look at this one on my 35 its a Ford center from an 8n (no scallops) then look at my other photo. The bolt patterns are all the same so they do interchange. This was the one I had to bolt on just do drag my tractor home when I bought it this last September.

It sounds like yours is a dlx. My frind near here has a deluxe (fancy seat, tach, 2 stage clutch) and his does not have the power adjust wheels either. Maybe the power adjust wheels were an option? I'm sure someone else out there can clear it up for us. I watch ebay all the time for parts and have seen 35s with and without.

The TO 35 dlx comes with power adjustable wheels so you can change the width the wheel spacing without taking the wheel assembly off and turning it around. Mine were all welded in the moving areas so when the rims rusted out there was no way to remove them from the wheel centers. This picture is the better one that at least held air even though the rim was split

Whats on it now are TO 20 wheel centers which would have been std on a 35 non dlx, I sand blasted them and painted them as the TO 20 was leaking Calcium Chloride as well and they had lots of surface rust.

The rims/tires I just took off my Ford 8n. Fregies use a standard "loop" type rim and Ford originally used thier own style wheel. I had sandblsated and painted the rims last year and were on my 49 8n. I recently located 2 Original Ford rims for my 8n so I moved these over to the 35.
