Had a storm sneak up on us last weekend so I hurried up and threw some lights and recently acquired chains on the TO 35, Its not pretty but sure handles the snow well

I have 2 real shiny Ns setting in the same shop, just can't stand to drag them through the snow anymore. I know if I paint this one I'll be loooking for another "work" tractor soon. This is all that will fit in the shop along with the truck and trailer, I think its time to stop

John...i didn't really think you were upset, just yankin' your chain a little. i think hills of tn. was more upset with me thinkin' i was makin' fun of your tractor when i asked where the rest of it was. when you said you were working on the doglegs yesterday, what are you referring to? i've heard this term before but don't know which part it is. i hope when you get your sheet metal all back on you post another pic or two. i know you don't live around here if you're getting snow...where ARE you located? oh ya...and is your to-35 a delux or special? i can't tell if you have the high/low shift from the pic or not.

Shes a 35 dlx. The power adjust wheels are off it as they were welded in all the adjustable places which was ok untill the rims rusted out from leaking Calcium Chloride. There is no way to get the rims off so I obtained some wheel centers off a TO 20 and sandblasted. The Dlx seat is off as I'm using a pan seat for the short term. This tractor set for at least 5 years outside prior to me getting it. Most everything on the surface is ruined from the rain and snow like the gauges, steering wheel, fenders, etc but after some work she's running like a top. I think the reason it was parked is that the dist was shot, way too much side play and didn't run right untill I replaced it.
The doglegs are the lower panels under the hood at the front that the grill mounts in. Mine were just mangled and I bought a real strait set that needed some dents pulled. I also found a real bad lower grill section (impossible to locate) which I cut out a lot of the lower steel and welded in new. I have the hood back on now and will get a photo taken soon.

I'm located in Western IL on the Mississippi River near Rodk Island, IL/Davenport IA.

irv....i don't wanna jump in front of john's answer to you, i think he's already upset at me for asking where the rest of his tractor is. but if you're looking for a repro, look up in the top left corner of this website page under where it says "yesterday's tractor co." you'll see H. Ferguson listed with all the other manufacturers names, if you click on that it will take you into the "fergie" store. put in your tractor type (to-20) and click "go" then you'll want to go thru the parts list and click on "lights" and you'll find a repro ferguson worklight kit there, with an on/off switch like the originals had. it's kinda pricey if you ask me tho. hope this helps...hi john!

My work light is there. The tail light is missing.
I ordered a lot of my parts from this sight. I posted a picture of my 20 in the Photo Gallery a couple of weeks ago if you want to eyeball it. I saw your 35. It looks great.

wow...that tractor is looking good! it sure has a wide track with those wheels turned doesn't it? i see you painted your wheel centers the slate grey, and your rims silver. that looks good...is that how they were originally? if not they should have been...nice job.

I'm not upset at all. Its taken a long time to get this tractor running and today I spent the day re-working the dog legs and lower grill section. I should have a hood on tomorrow night. The "work light" is a repro Tract-o-lite" with a original off/on switch mounted on it. This is the work beast. I have an actual original work light and a repro work lite on my 8n and 2n. The re-pro work lights really are just like the originals.

Is that a Ford tail light on there or an original Ferguson light or a repro of one. From what I've seen in the archives they're not available anywhere. I'm looking for one for my to-20. I've never seen an original one up close, so I don't know exactly what I'm looking for. I just got my tractor finished. Any information would be appreciated.

Its a re-pro 8n tail lite. I plow my drive and a neighbors and get out on the highway in front of the house and I prefer to be seen. My TO 20 had an original TARUS lite that also was used on the 9n/2n's I kept the tail lite when I got rid of the 20, one more item to bead blast and paint. Its going on my 2n as that is my mostly original tractor. My 8n is updated with 12 volt, backlit gauges, temp gauge etc. I plan on updating the 35 as well after the sheet metal is right. And you are right the tarus light is nearly impossible to find (intact). Not sure where you are in Iowa but I'm just down river from Davenport on the IL side, you are welcome to stop by and look anytime.

Seems like I saw it was during Old Threshers, but now I can't find where I saw that. Nothing is on the F.E.N.A. sight yet. Maybe someone from there will fill us in. And as for the politics, doesen't it seem like its in everything that gets much organization to it. Always someone with an ax to grind!!

john, if you DO send any of that snow down here for H.O.T and his grandaughter, please send it to middle tenn. and not west tenn. i moved 500 miles south to get away from that stuff! i had pieces of my 35 laying all over my shop until just recently when i put it all back together. yours looks just fine, i was just wondering if you HAD the rest of it. and my TO-20 will be scattered all over my shop soon....again. (coolant in the oil/cracked block syndrome)

I have the sheet metal, it was off for engine repairs and has not made it back on yet. I did install the bumper just incase.

while i was bush-hoggin' a couple years ago i was backing into a little corner and my rear tire went across a wrist thick stick and rocked the end up without me noticing it. it found its way into my radiator and punched a hole clear thru it. that's why i know how much a new rad costs. all my sheet metal was on at the time.

Hey John,
If Mike thinks your tractor is "incomplete", he should see the to20 sitting in my basement! Well, actually sitting is not a correct description because my wife says I have more tractor hanging from the ceiling than I do on the concrete.

If you get too much snow piled up, just send some of it to middle Tennessee. I have a 4 year-old granddaughter who hasn"t seen a real snow in her whole life! (as she puts it).

LOL. Should see my 30 laying around. Its prolly in 10 different places by now. At my parents house inside my old bedroom, in the shop, most the rearend in the yard. Theres parts all over my house, and in the garage and on top of my ac b - theres parts at work and the machine shop too :D

john...it looks like it'll do the job, but....where's the rest of your tractor? be careful with that rad sticking out there unprotected like that. a new one will cost you a bundle!
