Looked at TE20 yesterday it had a shift lever on the right side of the trans. When it was shifted it controled which gear was available in the main trans 1-2 or 3-4 I believe there were 4 postions on this shifter. I was not able to operate the tractor. But the gentleman said the top speed was not very fast did not think it was OD. He had purchasd it at a sale and did not know anything about it. Would like to get tractor operating to check out, but until then anyone have any ideas? Thanks Donald

It could be a Howard (above)or a Hupp (below). Check link for possible info. Jim

Jim, the placement of the shifter looks more like the Hupp altho it homemade. The shifter rod also sticks out the other side of the trans housing. The tractor is not too far from me I may have to make a trip to see if I can get running and test drive.
