O yea.. and i hate to sound like a moron.. but when you do the 3 wire alt.. you dont have to gut the thing and replace all those parts inside right? Thats just to convert the 1 wire to 3?

When i get the 3 wire.. i just wire it as shown and swap pulleys right?

If you get the factory version of the 10SI, such as for the Chevy pickup application, it will be ready to go as a 3-wire unit.

GM didn't make any of this series as a "one-wire" alternator.

That is strictly a (goofy) aftermarket setup.
