TO-35 Water Pump

Does anyone know how to remove the pulley from the water pump shaft of a TO-35 water pump?

My bearing is shot and I know I can buy a new "pump" consisting of the shaft/impeller/bearing/housing assembly. But this is attached to the pulley. I don't know if the pulley is pressed onto the shaft or not. Do I heat/beat the pulley off?

I can also buy a new pulley but it' more expensive that the pump and if I do buy one, I'd still not know how to reassemble.

If anyone knows how to get the pulley off of the shaft I'd really appreciate your info.

Thanks for the help. With a steering wheel puller and some heat, I was able to remove the pulley - intact. I ordered a pump from this site, and will probably have a machine shop press the pulley back on.

John, your 35 looks about like mine, but mine"s never been painted. I use it for mowing, disking, and some dirt work. It still runs good.

Dick, the pulley is pressed off. I just tried that on mine and the pulley crumbled long before it would move. The puley is pressed on several inches and realisticly unless its been off recently its gonna come off real hard. I destroyed mine and ended up pressing on a new pulley on a new pump
