We have a Harry Ferguson tractor. We were told that it is a 1949 model. The model # is TO-3551. We are trying to find out for sure what year this tractor was made. No one seems to know. Would appreciate any help or info. Thank You

It probably is a 1949 TO-20. I have a 1949 TO-20 that my father bought new and its serial # is TO-3337.

Is that number you quoted CAST into the steering column housing, I ask this because it is remarkably like a part number from that area of the tractor. The Serial number will be STAMPED in a plate just in front of the steering wheel close to the throttle lever, if this plate is missing you cant get the serial number. You could get some idea of when the tractor was made if you find the engine number which is on another plate on the cylinder block close to the distributor it will probably start with Z120 then a number, post it here and someone maybe able to tell you because their engine number is close to it.

Yes, 1949. You can check for yourself using the "serial number" link in the column on the left side of this page. Your tractor was made in Detroit and has a Z120 Continental engine.
