i have 48 te20 it has the starter solenoid mounted in different area from original, also i just changed the pull out starter switch to a toggle switch,i want to make sure of my wiring, toggle switch has three prongs on back side,i put the wire from coil to prong that says power,i put the wire from starter button to prong that says load then i have empty prong that says ground,do i have to use the ground prong?if so what would i ground it to?the tractor is running the way i hooked it up,i changed the pull starter switch because i broke one of the tabs off it.

From what you say I would think that you have the power and load leads connected the wrong way around, but if it works ok, it is after all only opening and closing a switch. I take it you have disconnected the safety start, why don't you fit a new switch and be safe, that is why it was put there. Everything would be standard then. Your old starter switch on top of the clutch housing may only require cleaning, check it out. Don't drop the operating rod inside, attach some string in case you drop it.
